Choosing a Prepared Childbirth Course Option

You have selected the Prepared Childbirth Course option. At Kadlec Regional Medical Center, we have a few classes to fit the need of all expectant parents. We encourage you to select a course that you will complete one month prior to your due date.*DSHS/Medical Coupons are only available for live in-classroom only.

The Prepared Childbirth (3-Session or weekend) Course prepares 1st time parents or those who have not had birth preparation with previous pregnancies. The class will discuss the third trimester pregnancy concerns and problem solving ideas pertaining to labor, delivery and postpartum. The class will outline what the care partner and mom can expect during their birth experience, including valuable support skills for the mom and their care partner. You'll learn about pain coping strategies during labor and easing the transition from hospital to home.

See What You Read Understanding Birth is interactive online courses that provide up-to-date information on challenges and choices in childbirth. The web-enhanced parent guide is a new way to educate today's parent.

Refresher Childbirth Class is a three-hour course that our certified instructors will provide the opportunity for you to discuss the challenges of your previous birth experience. They will update you on information pertaining to hospital procedures, medications and infant care. And finally, they will discuss the role of labor coach, including practicing breathing and relaxation techniques.
